NEBCO™ STYLE 102 AKⅡ® Blackjack® Superpack®

  • Description
    Style 102BlackJack Logo

NEBCO™ Style 102 AKⅡ® Blackjack® Superpack® packing is manufactured from 100% GORE® GFO® fibers, densely braided using New England Braiding Company’s ANTI-KEYSTONE® packing technology. This style combines the highest temperature and surface speed capability with the broadest chemical resistance of any PTFE fiber-based packing we offer.

Expanded PTFE filaments encapsulate submicron sized graphite particles which provide a graphite running surface after start-up. An inert break-in lubricant reduces burnout in difficult start-up situations. The high heat transfer rates provided by graphite permit running temperatures approaching the physical limits of the PTFE matrix.

With genuine W.L. Gore® fibers and
    New England Braiding’s ANTI-KEYSTONE® technology,
    Blackjack® Superpack® Style 102 AKⅡ® is a winning combination.
GORE® and GFO® are registered trademarks of W.L. Gore & Associates.

NEBCO™ STYLE 104 AKⅡ® BUMBLEBEE® PACKING

  • Description

NEBCO™ Style 104 AKⅡ® Bumblebee® Packing is manufactured from a PTFE/Graphite composite yarn and para-aramid packing yarn that is resistant to rolling and provides excellent anti-extrusion properties on all four corners of the packing.

The PTFE/Graphite composite yarn has properties which permit sealing with low gland loading. It provides a graphite running surface held in place by its PTFE matrix for low running friction. The combined result of these two yarns is a packing that can dependably seal the majority of equipment.

NEBCO™ STYLE 106 AKⅡ®

  • Description

NEBCO™ Style 106 AKⅡ® is manufactured from texturized continuous filament meta-aramid fibers impregnated with PTFE dispersion and treated with an inert break-in lubricant. The PTFE dispersion reduces friction and provides interstitial bulk to help prevent wicking.

This style combines superior temperature, chemical and hydrolytic resistance in one non-staining, naturally white, packing material. It is the optimal choice for abrasive services, especially in the mining industry.

Traditionally, in centrifugal applications, abrasive material in the pumping medium tends to get embedded into the fibers, turning the packing into a grinding wheel. Meta-aramid fibers perform well and tends to be less harsh on the shafts (compared to other abrasive service fibers such as para-aramids) leading to potential increased equipment savings.
  • Specification
    • pH range: 1-13 (except strong oxidizers).
    • Surface speeds to: 2,250 FPM (11.4 m/s).
    • Pressure to: 2,000 PSI (137 bar).
    • Temperatures from: -40°F (-40°C) to 500°F (260°C).
    • Abrasion resistant.
    • Extrusion resistant.
    • Non-staining.
    • Continuous filament meta-aramid.
  • Applications & Services
APPLICATIONS: Because of its high strength Style 106 AKⅡ® is one of the best packings available for slurry pumps, hydropulpers, sludge pumps and dredge pumps. Also appropriate for rotating shafts and reciprocating rods, rams, and presses, as well as valves with either rotating or rising stems.

SERVICES: Style 106 AKⅡ® may be used in water-based solutions, oils, solvents, refined products and crudes in the petroleum industry (within specifications), chemicals (within pH range), pulp and paper stocks, caustics, and pulping and bleach liquors in the pulp & paper industry. Especially suitable for the mining industry.

*Style 106 AKⅡ® should not be used to seal molten alkali metals, solutions containing free halides, or strong oxidizers such as aqua regia, red fuming nitric acid & oleum.
